So far in 2013 he is showing that he is for real, and that trend continued in Las Vegas. After a top-10 finish at Daytona, Pastrana left Phoenix with a less-than-stellar finish — a 28th place effort. After qualifying was rained out in Las Vegas, it appeared as though Pastrana would have another rough race as he would have to roll off the grid from 31st place. By lap three Pastrana had already made his way into the top-25 — when the first caution fell — and he knew at that point that he had a really good racecar. From here Pastrana would bide his time on his path to the front.
