NASCAR driver Ryan Newman will return to the Truck series for the first time in over two years next week to drive at the Mudsummer Classic at Eldora Speedway, for the series first race on dirt ever. The Inaugural Mudsummer Classic will be the first NASCAR-sanctioned national series event on dirt since Richard Petty’s Grand National win at Raleigh, NC in September 1970. Newman will drive the No. 34 Oral-B/Aggressive Hydraulics/WIX Filter Silverado for Turner Scott Motorsports. Nationwide Series crew chief Chris Carrier will call the shots atop the pit box for Newman. “I can’t thank everyone at Oral-B, Aggressive Hydraulics, WIX Filter and Turner Scott Motorsports enough for this unique opportunity,” said Newman. “This race is going to be something really special in NASCAR’s history.
