David Gilliland was thrust into the spotlight one fateful day back in 2006, when he shocked the world and wrote possibly the most unpredictable underdog chapter in history by winning the Meijer 300 Nationwide Series race at Kentucky. Gilliland had an underfunded car, no big-name sponsor, but he still found a way to dig deep and hold off guys like Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick and Greg Biffle.
Since that day Gilliland has become one of the more interesting underdog stories in the Sprint Cup Series. Saturday he will roll of the grid 27th driving the No. 38 EZPawn/EZMoney Ford Fusion for Front Row Motorsports.
