If Elliott Sadler is planning to drive in the NASCAR Nationwide Series next season for Joe Gibbs Racing then we will have to wait a little longer for the announcement. The veteran driver who is currently the series’ points leader is not about to talk about next season instead wanting to talk about the upcoming race at Dover.
“My goal as a driver is to be back in the Cup Series and make the Chase as a Cup driver. That’s my No. 1 goal,” Sadler said. Asked if he expected to have that chance in 2013, Sadler hedged and replied, “Uh, I don’t know. We’re working on some different things. But my No. 1 goal is to have that opportunity, to be a part of the Chase again.”
The reported deal with JGR is believed to be a full time Nationwide ride which could include a limited schedule in the Cup series.
