Subsequently he was pulled out of the #22 Shell Pennzoil Dodge for Saturday’s race at Daytona. Sam Hornish, who drives the #12 in the Nationwide Series, replaced Allmendinger behind the wheel of the Penske Racing Dodge and finished a dismal 33rd. Thus far little information is known about the failed drug test by Allmendinger. It’s almost unheard of for NASCAR to announce what personnel test positive for but often this information does leak out.
