Prior to the surprising T.J. Oshie trade, the St. Louis Blues had another player popping up in several trade rumors – Kevin Shattenkirk. The defenseman was believed to be on the market, but eventually Shattenkirk’s agents stated that he wouldn’t be leaving the Blues. So, who were the Blues talking to?

In a somewhat surprising move, the St. Louis decided to trade winger T.J. Oshie to the Washington Capitals on Thursday. Oshie, who has played seven season in St. Louis, thanked all the fans for his time in the Gateway City.

It would make sense that the hockey player who was the symbol of American patriotism at the last Winter Olympics will now make his living in the nation’s capital. T.J. Oshie was traded to the Washington Capitals today in exchange for Troy Brouwer, minor league goalie Pheonix Copley, and a 2016 third round pick.
Oshie is a fairly consistent 20-goal a year scorer with a .25 goals...
The T.J. Oshie trade is still settling in, but it already has been an extremely divisive and polarizing topic. Some fans are happy the core has been altered while others are sad Oshie is gone or are unhappy with the return.
