Video: Blake Wheeler collides with a referee

It’s been a bad week for NHL officials. Mark Fayne recently nailed one in the head with the puck and now Blake Wheeler sent a linesman tumbling when their skates got tangled up. That’s a pretty bad spill. Both individuals are lucky there wasn’t a more serious injury on the play. The post Video: Blake Wheeler collides with a referee appeared first on Puck Drunk Love.

Video: Mark Fayne nails linesman while clearing the puck

Some will call it dumb luck and others may say it intentional, but anytime a ref gets hurt, it is an ugly scene on the ice. The Edmonton Oilers were getting killed by the Columbus Blue Jackets and in what seemed like an innocuous play, turned into a real bungle for the Oilers. With all that open space, Mark Fayne accidentally zeroed in on the official. This kind of puts the entire...

Mark Fayne has entire ice open, hits linesman in head with puck along boards (Video)

Edmonton Oilers defenseman Mark Fayne accidentally hit a linesman in the head with a puck during the third period of Friday night's game against Columbus. The play raised some eyebrows, considering that Fayne had nothing but open ice in front of him and could have easily cleared the puck down the middle of the ice. Instead, he inexplicably tried to play the puck along the boards...

Reports: Alexander Semin likely heading overseas

Alexander Semin apparently appeared on tickets to Wednesday’s Montreal Canadiens-Boston Bruins game at the Bell Centre. The problem: The Canadiens waived Semin two days earlier. Just realized that Semin is the player featured on CH tiks for tonights MTL/BOS game. What are the chances of that. pic.twitter.com/zW1UQgJiRg — CapFriendly (@CapFriendly) December 9, 2015 Semin...

Fayne spent last season with the New Jersey Devils, putting up 11 points in 71 games and performing as an underrated possession-based defenseman. He’ll be making 3.5 million per year over 4 [...]

Brooks: Rangers may target Mark Fayne, Ryan Carter

Per Larry Brooks, the Rangers may target ex-Devils Mark Fayne (27-year-old right-handed defenseman) and Ryan Carter (30-year-old left-handed center). It is assumed that Carter could feasibly replace the minutes played by the soon-to-be-departed Brian Boyle, and Fayne could replace the minutes played by the surely-to-receive-a-ridiculous-contract Anton Stralman. Looking at Fayne first...

Rangers Interested In Devils Free Agents, Not Dominic Moore

And the hot stove is officially burning as the rumors surrounding the Rangers are rampant. Larry Brooks at the New York Post reports that the Rangers have “checked in with and have legitimate interest in” Devils UFA defenseman Mark Fayne as a possible replacement for Anton Stralman. The 27-year old, right-handed defenseman had four goals and seven assists last season while playing...

Rangers interested in Devils’ Fayne, Carter

Larry Brooks is reporting that the Rangers have ‘legitimate’ interest in soon to be former Devils defenseman Mark Fayne. Glen Sather is clearly getting his ducks in a row in the event that Anton Stralman‘s demands exceeds the team’s budget. The Rangers have already checked in on Dan Boyle, but the most logical replacement for Stralman is probably Fayne. At least in term...
