Clint Bowyer is coming off of his best season in his eight year Sprint Cup Series career.
Bowyer finished second in the points and if it wasn’t for a late wreck with Jeff Gordon coming to the white flag in the November race at Phoenix International Raceway he could have possibly won the title. He returns this year even more focused and wanting to capture Toyota’s first Cup title.
Bowyer was ninth quickest in Day 1 of the Daytona test with a top speed of 192.530 mph. That speed took place in the second of the two sessions. In the morning session he was seventh quickest with a lap of 192.143 mph. He turned a grand total of 43 laps combined in both sessions and was hoping to learn a lot.
“Everybody is super excited about this race car and what it brings to our sport and the identity that it brings back to the passenger cars you see on the roads. This is my first time I’ve been in it,” said the Emporia, Kansas native.
