Kelly Johnson goes on Yankees’ disabled list with groin injury

Kelly Johnson isn’t as needed in the Yankees’ lineup following the trade for Chase Headley and now he won’t be available at all for a while, as the utility man has been placed on the disabled list with a strained groin. Johnson signed a one-year, $3 million deal this offseason and has played all over the diamond, starting games at third base, first base, left field, and right field.
