Apple TV Plus gave us a double dose of Tom Hanks on Thursday (Aug. 12).
Not only did Finch get an official Nov. 5 release date, but the streamer revealed a first-look image of Hanks as the titular character alongside his robot and his beloved dog, Goodyear:

"In the film directed by Miguel Sapochnik (Game of Thrones, True Detective), the Oscar-winning Hanks plays a robotics engineer who is among the few survivors of a cataclysmic solar event," Deadline relayed. "While that event left the world a wasteland, Finch has built a world of his own in the time since, which he shares with his beloved dog, Goodyear. Also living with Finch in his underground bunker is a robot (played by Caleb Landry Jones) that he’s built to watch over Goodyear when he no longer can."
The sci-fi drama was written by Craig Luck and Ivor Powell.
Hanks, 65, previously starred in and wrote the screenplay for Aaron Schneider's Greyhound, which premiered on Apple TV Plus in July 2020.
Christmas Day then brought News of the World, which Hanks led as Captain Jefferson Kyle Kidd. The film adaptation of Paulette Jiles' novel by the same name was directed by Paul Greengrass, and it earned four nominations at the 93rd Academy Awards in April.
After Finch, the two-time Oscar winner is slated to portray Elvis Presley's manager Colonel Tom Parker in Baz Luhrmann's forthcoming untitled biopic about the late King of Rock and Roll followed by the role of Geppetto in the 2022 live-action remake of Pinocchio.
