IMPACT Knockouts World Champion Trinity will put her title on the line against the IMPACT Wrestling legend Mickie James

Trinity had won the Knockouts World title after defeating Deonna Purrazzo at Slammiversary. Since then she has been having a great run as the champ but now she has a huge task at her hands.

Mickie James made her triumphant return in the huge 10-Knockout tag team match at IMPACT 1000. She returned after being forced to vacate the Knockouts World Championship due to injury. While celebrating the win on the milestone episode, Mickie set her sights set on the Knockouts World Title belt.

Now, a week later, in the main event of the 9/28 IMPACT Wrestling on AXS, IMPACT Knockouts World Champion Trinity Fatu went one-on-one with Gisele Shaw.

Jai Vidal, who was in the corner of Gisele, accidentally tripped her up and Trinity then put her in a submission for the win. Following the match, Vidal and Savannah Evans went after Trinity. It was Mickie James who came down and made the save.

After James and Trinity cleared the ring, James issued the challenge to Trinity for a Knockouts World Championship match at Bound For Glory and the champion accepted. Soon the match was made official.

Previously, MuscleManMalcolm recently asked Trinity which legends she'd be interested in defending her Knockouts World Championship against. She had named Mickie James among multiple stars.

"There are some good legends. One would be Mickie [James]," Trinity said. "Mickie is just iconic, and we never really got to do much in WWE together. So definitely, Mickie would maybe be at the top of my list.

IMPACT Wrestling presents its biggest pay-per-view of the year, Bound For Glory, LIVE October 21st at 8pm ET from Cicero Stadium in Chicago.
