Michael Elgin has reportedly been arrested in Japan.

Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net reported that Elgin was arrested last weekend in Japan for stealing protein powder and has remained in jail since. The report noted that Elgin could face up to five years in jail.

Elgin was on tour with Pro Wrestling NOAH, where he was one half of the GHC Tag Team Champions with Masa Kitamiya. On July 9, NOAH announced that Elgin would be unable to compete in an upcoming card in Shizuoka. On July 12, they announced that Elgin would also miss the Budokan Hall event set for July 16 and the titles were vacated as a result. Timothy Thatcher and Hideki Suzuki ended up winning the titles, defeating Kitamiya and Yoshiki Inamura.

Prior to returning to NOAH in April, Elgin had only wrestled sporadically since 2020 following Speaking Out allegations made against him. He has previously worked for Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and Impact Wrestling.
