Randy Orton is so talented, but the WWE superstar could barely stand or sit on the toilet before undergoing back surgery.

Randy Orton Could Barely Stand Before Back Surgery

For 18 months, there were questions about Randy Orton’s future. His back was so bad, even after surgery, doctors did not recommend returning to pro wrestling

But, “The Viper” does what he wants and he returned at Survivor Series. If it was not for CM Punk’s surprise return, Orton’s pop would have been the loudest of 2023.

As he prepares for the Elimination Chamber and a chance to challenge Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40, he spoke with Sports Illustrated. Basically, Orton was in bad shape while teaming with Matt Riddle.

“Before I left, I’d got to the point where [Matt] Riddle had done everything he could for me as a tag partner,” said Orton. “I could barely stand for a long amount of time.”

“Taking my kids trick-or-treating that Halloween, I would have to sit in between the houses. I just couldn’t be on my feet that long.”

“I had stenosis, degeneration all over my lower spine, and a slipping disc. Every time I extended my spine, it would slip and press on those nerves.”

“I couldn’t sit and take a sh-t without pain shooting down my legs or my feet going numb. Couldn’t stand. There were times when I’d move and end up on the floor.”

While away, WWE released Matt Riddle due to several issues. Perhaps, if Orton was near, he could have convinced WWE to keep him.

Enjoy these moments with Orton for now. He turns 44 in April and after 20 plus years inside a ring, retirement cannot be far away.

So, does anyone else think Randy Orton should retire after undergoing such extensive back surgery because the WWE schedule is too much?
