New champions crowned at NJPW Sakura Genesis

New champions were crowned Saturday in Ryogoku Sumo Hall at NJPW Sakura Genesis. 

Shingo Takagi defeated EVIL on the show to win the NEVER Openweight Championship in the semi-main event. The title match descended into chaos as both Shingo LIJ faction and EVIL's House of Torture unit interfered, Yoshinobu Kanemaru and Hiromu Takahashi did run-ins wearing referee shirts, and much more zaniness, before Shingo pinned the champion with Last of the Dragon. 

In the show's other title change, Bishamon's Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI are once again the IWGP Tag Team Champions after defeating Bullet Club's KENTA & Chase Owens to claim the titles for the fourth time as a unit.

In the night's other title bouts, Tetsuya Naito defeated Yota Tsuji to retain the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, Bullet Club War Dogs retained the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship, and SHO is still the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion after defeating YOH by referee stoppage after YOH suffered an apparent shoulder injury.
