Matt Hardy will continue wrestling.

Recent reports and rumors have claimed that the former ECW Champion’s career in AEW is soon coming to an end. Speculation started after Hardy recently tweeted out thanks to his fans, with some believing he was going to call it quits.

Fightful (via Fightful Select) recently reported that Hardy’s AEW contract is set to expire at the end of March; Hardy later confirmed this was the case. Hardy has been with AEW for four years making his debut on the first episode of AEW Dynamite during the pandemic.

Since then, he has been reunited with his brother, Jeff. The pair teamed together after Hardy’s firing from WWE in 2022, but their run was curtailed by Jeff Hardy’s DUI arrest in June 2022.

Given his age, injury history and pending status in AEW, many suspected that this could be the end for Hardy’s in-ring career.

However, the former TNA World Champion dispelled those rumours with a post on Twitter.

“No, I am not retiring from active wrestling anytime soon,” Hardy said, in response to a fan questioning if he is retiring.
