Jim Ross offers jaw-dropping praise for this young AEW star

When it comes to wrestling, Jim Ross has seen it all. Ross is a WWE Hall of Famer. He has been present for the rise and fall of countless superstars. Ross has also been a professional wrestler himself. So, when the veteran announcer speaks about potential talent, it's wise for people to listen.

During a recent "Grilling JR" episode, Ross offered some lofty praise for Darby Allin

"He’s a fearless kid, I love him," Ross said, (h/t to Fightful for the transcription). "He’s just one of the best homegrown prospects I’ve ever seen...He’s young, he’s in his mid-20s. So if he can hold up … that whole story was about his spine, his back. That’s what the announcers should be talking about because that was the whole story."

Allin has been growing in stature for AEW. The young daredevil has developed into a potential star during his time with the company. Having Sting as your mentor certainly doesn't hurt. However, Allin has now been given an on-screen mentorship role of his own. The storyline involving Nick Wayne and Christian Cage is further proof of Allin's rapid rise.

Tony Khan is a smart businessman. He's surrounded himself with some of the best minds in professional wrestling. Ross' comments won't go unnoticed.

Allin has remained professional throughout his tenure with AEW. Now, the fan-favorite is starting to reap the rewards and is getting more featured storyline time.

Developing homegrown stars is the next step in AEW's growth as a company. Most of their marquee names are veterans of the business. However, Sammy Guevara, Allin, The Acclaimed, Austin and Colton Gunn and Powerhouse Hobbs are all examples of how AEW is slowly building up its stable of in-house talent.

AEW is trending in the right direction. It's recording year-on-year growth from all over the world. Allin has played a role in that growth. As the company continues to evolve, we can expect Allin to evolve with it, and that's good news for wrestling fans everywhere.
