Chris Jericho reveals future plans with AEW

Chris Jericho is one of the biggest names in professional wrestling. He's been on the scene for over 30 years. During the early days of AEW, he was the company's biggest signing and one of the promotion's most talented wrestlers. As the company has grown, Jericho has become surrounded by elite talent.

AEW continues to go from strength to strength. The recent additions of Mercedes Mone, Will Ospreay and  Kazuchika Okada are all signs of the strong growth the company is showing. Nevertheless, Jericho remains one of the biggest draws. His popularity and ability to continually add buzz to a storyline make him an important member of the roster. Fortunately, the "Lionheart" doesn't plan on leaving the company despite being so deep into his career.

"It’s not something I’ve really thought about. I like watching and reading about what’s going on, the buzz that they have, but I also like my company and I helped start AEW," Jericho told Gabby AF. h/t to Fightful for the transcription." I don’t really see any reason why I would want to leave at this point. Never say that I wouldn’t go, but I have zero plans of that. I like it here and I like the people I work with. I enjoy coming to work every week, which was not always the case in WWE, and it’s weird how that is the case here, but it’s a different vibe and I have a lot of fun here in AEW."

Between Jericho, Christian, Adam Copeland and Kenny Omega, AEW has some exceptional veteran talent in their ranks. Yet, it's clear there's a desire to push some of the younger generation to the forefront. As that happens, we may see Jericho take a slight step back in terms of being in the ring. His experience at multiple top promotions will always be valuable.

When looking at AEW's growth and how they will continue to draw in new fans and produce bigger shows, it's clear why Jericho wants to stick around. He helped put the company on the map. It's only fair he gets to reap the rewards of his labor. The news is also a good sign for AEW. Not only are they attracting top talent, they're producing an environment that can keep them happy and retain them for the long term.
