Bryan Danielson vs. Jun Akiyama set for next AEW Collision

Two Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Famers will square off on the February 24 AEW Collision episode. 

As announced during Friday's Rampage show, Bryan Danielson will face Jun Akiyama on next week's Collision. Danielson was inducted into the WON Hall of Fame in 2016, while Akiyama was part of the Class of 2020. 

The Danielson vs. Akiyama singles contest continues a run of singles opponents for Danielson in 2024 that includes two other WON Hall of Famers in Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Kingdom 18, and Yuji Nagata on a January Collision episode. 

Danielson also went one-on-one with seven-time WON Best Technical Wrestler award winner Zack Sabre Jr. at last weekend's NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka.

In addition to Danielson vs. Akiyama, Serena Deeb in action has been announced for next week's Collision episode. 

Collision returns to its regular 8 p.m. Eastern time slot on TNT on Saturday, February 24. The show will not air on Saturday, February 17 due to TNT coverage of NBA All-Star weekend.
