Since transferring from Stanford to the UCLA Bruins team, Lauren Betts has showcased elite skill.  She is an integral part of the starting five that has the team ranked #2 nationally.

Betts leads the conference and NCAA in FG% with .638. In her 17 games so far she has amassed 147 rebounds, which is 8.6 RPG. This number has Betts ranked #6 in the Pac-12.

Based on being one of the best centers in the game, she has now been nominated for the Lisa Leslie Award.

Betts has stiff competition, as she is up against players like Cameron Brink from Stanford, Mackenzie Holmes from Indiana, and Reagan Beers from Oregon State.

Betts has the rest of the season to showcase her skill to the Selection Committee which is comprised of top women's college basketball personnel, including media members, head coaches, sports information directors, and Hall of Famers.

Fan voting has started, and everyone can head to hoophallawards.com to vote for Betts. Fan votes count in giving the Selection Committee more to think about when giving out the award.

Betts is a fantastic player and we imagine she will remain one of the top finalists for the award.
