Iga Swiatek fails to stand out as she faces a huge defeat at the hands of Linda Noskova

World No.1 Iga Swiatek, known for cruising through the opening rounds of a Grand Slam, crashed out in the third round at the 2024 Australian Open.

Having never reached the finals at Melbourne, Swiatek lost her opportunity at a 5th Slam after facing a huge setback in the form of Linda Noskova. The teenager left Swiatek absolutely baffled after a great victory to remember for a long time. Recording her biggest win, the Czech continues her dream run at the tournament.

Admitting to enjoying this victory, the 19-year-old opened up about her mentality heading into the game. After knowing that she was going to play Swiatek, the youngster revealed to only think about the match and enter the court with a ‘nothing to lose’ attitude. This attitude saw her through the match as she caused a major upset.

Noskova awaits her next opponent as the next set of third matches are yet to take place. The youngster also took revenge for her loss last year at the Poland Open. With a confidence surge, the youngster moves on to record her best Grand Slam run.
