Mirra Andreeva analyzes Martina Hingis’s tennis style and compares it with hers

The 16-year-old Russian who has been taking the Australian Open draw by storm recently won her third-round match to make her spot in the final 16 of the tournament. Mirra Andreeva, the new star of tennis has entertained the fans with her tennis on the court, and with her interviews off the court. Recently she shut down all the comparisons made between her and the legend Martina Hingis as she analyzed both their tennis styles and pointed at the main differences.

According to the youngster, Hingis played more aggressively and usually went to the net to finish the point whereas she prefers to stay at the baseline and go to the net if necessary. Always going front to finish, Andreeva finds that as a huge difference as she would much rather stay back and finish the point from the baseline. Despite this, many find similarities due to their aggressive style of gameplay and the kind of shots they have.

Nonetheless, the Russian is focused on her run at the tournament as she secured a third-round win in a thriller of a match to match her personal best record of four rounds at a Grand Slam. With hopes to beat her own record, the Russian gears up for another entertaining match against Barbara Krejcikova
