Taking Indian tennis to another level is Rohan Bopanna, who continues to break milestones at the tender age of 43. Making his country proud, Bopanna continued his dream run at the Australian Open.

The dream team of Matthew Ebden and Rohan Bopanna was one of the favorites heading into the tournament, as they fought hard through the matches.

Put to the test early on, the favorites kept up their reputation and fought back to win the match in straight sets. The duo of Ebden-Bopanna won 7-6(8) and 7-6(4) to advance to the quarterfinals in Melbourne.

With this win, the Karnataka star gets a career-high rank of No. 2. His partner also moves up a rank and is assured the No. 3 rank in doubles. If the formidable duo manages a quarter-final win, then Bopanna will rise to No. 1, adding another feather to his cap.

Rolling into their maiden Australian Open quarterfinals, the duo is one of the strong contenders for the title.

Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden string favorites of the Australian Open as they roll into the quarter-finals

The No. 2 seeded team of Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden is arguably one of the strong favorites at the Australian Open as they roll into the quarterfinals.

This duo is not short on winning experience, as they have won multiple tournaments together. After clinching the Qatar Open title together, they came extremely close to winning their maiden Slam together at the US Open. Falling short to the team of Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury, they recorded their best run in a Grand Slam.

With the American duo out early, the duo of Ebden and Bopanna remains the top seed in the draw and one of the favorites to win the tournament.

They now face Andrés Molteni and Máximo González in the quarterfinals to try and win their maiden Slam together. Running strong with 500+ wins is Bopanna, who continues to make India proud with his achievements.

As one of the oldest players on the Tour, he recently surpassed Daniel Nestor to become the oldest player at the age of 43 to win an ATP 1000 title. With a Slam win, Bopanna will become the oldest man to do so.
