Mike Frey-USA TODAY Sports

Rohan Bopanna has constantly succeeded in carving his name into the history of tennis. At the age of 43, the Indian tennis player has climbed up the hill by defying all odds and has become World No. 1 in the doubles category.

After this news broke out, players from around the world congratulated Bopanna on his stellar achievement. Among those strings of names is World No. 1 in singles, Novak Djokovic. The 24-time Grand Slam champion took to Instagram to drop a congratulatory message for the Indian.

Rohan Bopanna has recently dominated the world of mixed doubles. He made his debut roughly 20 years ago, and this is his 17th appearance at the Australian Open

For the first time in many years, the Indian team advanced to the tournament’s semi-finals. Previously, he and his teammate Matthew Ebden reached the final of the 2023 US Open but lost to Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury.

Since then, they have advanced to the finals of the 2023 Shanghai Open and the semifinals of the 2023 ATP Finals. Bopanna and Ebden are unquestionably one of the world’s best doubles teams right now. Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden will be the top two players in the doubles standings, respectively.

Bopanna and Ebden cruise into Semifinals

Bopanna and Ebden have left an indelible impression on the event, winning all of their matches without dropping a set. Their flawless coordination and strong play reflect the kind of form that positions them as formidable competitors in the men’s doubles division.

The current triumph advances the duo into the semifinals, where they will face China’s Zhizhen Zhang and Czech Republic’s Tomas Machac. Zhang and Machac are not regulars on the doubles Tour, but the Chinese player has a doubles rating of 625, highlighting their individual strengths.

Bopanna and Ebden, with their consistent and dominant performances, emerge as clear favorites to win the forthcoming match.

The seasoned Indian-Australian pair’s chemistry on the court and ability to finish matches effectively make them a force to be reckoned with in the men’s doubles division.
