Nick Kyrgios upsets fourth-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas at Wimbledon

Nick Kyrgios bounced back from a tiebreak loss in the first set Saturday to beat fourth-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas in four sets at Wimbledon, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3, 7-6.

The mercurial Australian player began his tournament by earning a $10,000 fine for spitting in the direction of a fan during a first-round match. In the second round, he eliminated 26th Filip Krajinović in straight sets.

On Saturday, Kyrgios showed off his trademark flair in a third-round match against Tsitsipas.

Kyrgios, 27, reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon in 2014 and the quarterfinals at the Australian Open in 2015. But he hasn't advanced past the fourth round at a Grand Slam in the more than seven years since.

Once ranked as high as 13th in the world, Kyrgios is currently ranked 40th.

Following the elimination of Tsitsipas, only two of the top six players in the ATP rankings — Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal — are left in the Wimbledon field. Daniil Medvedev was barred from competing due to Wimbledon's ban of Russian players, and Alexander Zverev is recovering from ankle surgery. Sixth-ranked Casper Ruud lost in the second round to Ugo Humbert.
