Jabeur Backed To Finally Win Grand Slam In 2024 By Legend Navratilova
Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

Ons Jabeur endured more heartbreak this year by losing in the Wimbledon final, but she's backed to finally get it done in 2024 by former WTA player Martina Navratilova.

The career of Ons Jabeur has been fascinating to observe. She is a late bloomer struggling to find her footing early on in her career. With time and hard work, Jabeur worked her way to the top of tennis, where she's been for a few years now.

She belongs at the top as she made her way to three Grand Slam finals so far in her career but lost all of them. It was pretty heartbreaking, especially the Wimbledon one this year, as she faced a player who was not known as a great grass player.

She lamented her heartbreak about Wimbledon many times this year and it makes sense. Everybody was ready to hand her the trophy, but Marketa Vondrousova had other plans.

Well, 2024 is coming up, and the goal of winning one remains. Martina Navratilova thinks that Jabeur will finally win one major, as she revealed to the WTA.

I’m going through the rankings right now, and it’s got to be Ons. Because of the variety and everything else in her game, she’s the obvious choice. Wimbledon was a heartbreaking loss, but you know what they say: If it doesn’t kill you, it makes you stronger. My money’s on Ons, always a threat on any surface, to break through.

Navratilova on Jabeur winning a Grand Slam

It's not a bad pick in any way because Jabeur is pretty close to getting it done. Wimbledon was her huge chance because she finally faced a player that she was favored against but simply couldn't push through.

We'll see if she's finally ready to win one because, at this point, it's more mental than anything else. The talent was always there.
