Former Wimbledon Finalist Accused Of Installing Spy Camera In Ex-Girlfriend's Room
Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

David Nalbandian was once Argentina's biggest tennis star, but his reputation could get some serious stain after a recent scandal involving his ex-girlfriend.

Nalbandian was ranked as high as World No. 3 in a highly successful 13-year playing career. He is the only man from Argentina who reached at least the semifinal in each of the four Grand Slams and was a Wimbledon finalist in 2002.

The Argentine's most significant accomplishment in tennis was winning the 2005 ATP Finals title match from two sets to love down against 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer.

He is the answer to the trivia question for being the only man to defeat all three members of the Big 3 in one tournament. But recent reports have portrayed the darker side of the now 41-year-old former World No. 3, who is accused of harassment and stalking by her former partner Araceli Torrado.

The pair had been dating for close to a year, between September 2022 and June 2023. Torrado, 29, is an Argentine model from Rosario and has flaunted her relationship with the retired tennis star all over social media when they dated.

They lived together in an apartment in Palermo - the Italian island of Sicily - until when they parted ways in June this year. But after they broke up, Torrado continued to stay there and discovered a hidden camera behind a ventilation unit inside the bedroom with the help of her brother.

Torrado filed a case against Nalbandian, imminently accusing him of harassment and stalking, but it was dropped because of lack of evidence.

However, according to Argentina's publication La Nacion, Nalbandian has confessed in an audio recording, saying, "Do you want me to be honest? Yes, I set up the camera. But I couldn’t see anything because there were internet problems."

Torrado's lawyers have since revealed that the investigations have been reopened and the report by La Nacion claims Nalbandian will now face charges of sexual harassment and stalking.
