Novak Djokovic is likely to be the clear Wimbledon favourite according to former British number one, Laura Robson .

Djokovic has an incredible recent record at Wimbledon as the Serbian has won the last four editions and has not lost at the event since 2017. In addition, the 36-year-old has already proved his adaptability this season by winning the Australian Open in January before tasing further Grand Slam success at the 2023 Roland Garros earlier in June .

Due to his impressive form at Wimbledon and in recent Grand Slams, Djokovic is a standout favourite ahead of the third Grand Slam of the year. Former WTA player Robson told Eurosport that Djokovic's potential to win an eighth career Wimbledon title is clear to see on current form.

"He's definitely the favourite in my eyes, especially after Paris."

Robson said to Eurosport

"The amount of confidence that he has at the moment and then to come here to a tournament that he's won an incredible amount of times and just seems so at ease on this surface, so comfortable on Centre Court, that it's hard to bet against him.”

Moreover, Robson highlighted Djokovic's standout threat on grass, which is also likely to help his bid to seal a 24th career slam. The 29-year-old explained that Djokovic's ability to naturally perform on grass and at Wimbledon puts him above the challenging field.

"The way he moves on this surface is unlike anyone else because he's able to take a few things that he uses on the different surfaces, like the sliding that he would do on the clay and the hard courts. And he still manages to stay so balanced, which is always the difficult thing on grass, to still find enough in the legs to get underneath every ball, make sure that it's not coming onto you so quickly. But he just doesn't even seem to think about it.

"A couple of weeks ago I remember speaking to him and he was saying that clay is the surface that he finds toughest to adjust to, where it takes him a few weeks to feel like he's stable. And it just doesn't seem like he has that at all on the grass.
