Daria Saville highlights Storm Hunter’s rigorous schedule after the Aussie comes through with an epic victory in Miami qualifiers

She then missed her flight to Miami which she was supposed to catch at 3 PM on the same day. Hunter then slept for just five hours in Dallas before catching a flight on Sunday morning at 7 AM. As per Saville, the Australian landed at 11 AM in Miami and had to wait for 40 minutes for her luggage.

Hunter then managed to reach the stadium at around 1:15 PM. She warmed up a bit before her first-round match and then it was a grueling battle on the court for the Australian.

A hot and cold Indian Wells for Storm Hunter

Storm Hunter had a hot and cold outing at the 2024 India Wells Open. While the Australian failed to qualify for the singles main draw after a defeat to Robin Montgomery in the second round in the qualifiers, Hunter made it to the final of the women’s doubles event with Katerina Siniakova.

Although the pair lost to Su Wei Hseih and Elise Mertens, it was a valiant effort from Hunter and Siniakova. The Australian also won the title in the first-ever mixed doubles event hosted at the Masters tournament.

She paired up with compatriot Matthew Ebden to beat France’s Caroline Garcia and Edouard Roger Vasselin 6-3, 6-3 to lift the title in the inaugural edition of the event. Most recently, Hunter won the women’s doubles title with Siniakova in Dubai. Now, she is back competing in the singles qualifiers at Miami Open.
