Carlos Alcaraz ‘getting faster and stronger every week,’ says Mischa Zverev

Carlos Alcaraz is ‘getting stronger and faster every week’ according to Eurosport analyst Mischa Zverev.

Alcaraz has won back-to-back Masters this year as well as two other tournaments, and he beat Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic back to back in Madrid last month.

He has backed that up with a run to the Roland Garros quarterfinals, where he will face Mischa’s brother and third seed Alexander Zverev.

Zverev was beaten by Alcaraz, 19, in the final of the Madrid Masters last month, underling the Spaniard’s arrival as a genuine force on the ATP Tour.

And, according to Mischa, Carlos Alcaraz is only going to get better from here.

“His [Carlos] serve is getting faster and stronger every week,” Mischa Zverev told Eurosport.

“You can’t push him off the baseline. As long as he is standing in the field, he wins the point 95 per cent of the time.

“Within the first two metres behind the baseline, it’s still two-thirds of all the points he wins. The only area where he has problems is when he is more than two metres behind the baseline.”

Mischa Zverev works as part of Alexander Zverev’s coaching team as well as a television analyst, and he believes he has identified one possible route to victory for his brother.
