Day 2 at the second Masters 1000 of the season in Miami will not feature the seeds yet, but it is sure to feature a lot of very exciting, high-level matches. One of the big stories of the tournament is Kei Nishikori’s return to action. A former finalist here at ATP Miami is trying once again to make a successful return from injury. Who will advance to Round 2?

ATP Miami Day 2 Predictions

Daniel Elahi Galan vs Alexander Shevchenko

Head-to-head: first meeting

Both players are having pretty rough seasons so far, with lots of disappointing defeats and no good runs. That said, Shevchenko is generally the better player and is also younger with a bigger upside. This should be a very tight match, but overall, Shevchenko should have a slight edge.

Prediction: Shevchenko in 3

Laslo Djere vs Chak Lam Coleman Wong

Head-to-head: first meeting

Djere has been having a horrible season so far, but he got a very kind draw at ATP Miami. Wong had a nice run through qualifying, but he has generally been struggling to win matches even at lower levels. He is currently ranked No. 212. Despite his poor form at the moment, Djere should be able to make it through.

Prediction: Djere in 2

Alexandre Muller vs Soonwoo Kwon

Head-to-head: first meeting

Kwon is on a dreadful 10-match losing streak that dates back to February 2023 and has been struggling with various issues in the past year. While he should eventually get back to the top 100, Muller has to be considered a very clear favorite at the moment.

Prediction: Muller in 2

Kei Nishikori vs Sebastian Ofner

Head-to-head: first meeting

Nishikori was once one of the best players in the world and a former finalist at this tournament, but those days seem to be long gone. He has been battling injuries for years and is trying once again to make a comeback here. That said, he certainly has the ability to win here if his body holds up.

Prediction: Nishikori in 3
