Giovanni Manna is ready to start leading the transfer market at Napoli and is thinking about giving Aston Villa flop Nicolo Zaniolo a route back to Serie A.

Partenopei president Aurelio De Laurentiis is ready to shake up the club’s management in the summer after a painful post Scudetto campaign, disappointed by the work of current sporting director Mauro Meluso, who failed to fill the void left behind by Cristiano Giuntoli’s exit.

Manna emerged as De Laurentiis’ primary target to become the new Napoli sporting director and he recently reached a verbal agreement regarding a five-year deal in the Campania capital, ready to leave Juventus to join the Campania outfit in the summer.

Zaniolo return?

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Manna has long been a fan of Zaniolo, once being keen on bringing the forward to Juventus, and he could try to snap up the 24-year-old Italian once his loan spell with Aston Villa ends in the summer.

Zaniolo will return to Galatasaray but is not expected to stay with the Super Lig club for long. Rumours suggest they’d be open to a new loan deal for the 24-year-old, who is hopeful of making the cut for Luciano Spalletti’s Italy squad at the upcoming European Championship.
