Riyad Mahrez fired Manchester City into the club's 12th FA Cup final by scoring a hat-trick in a semi-final victory over Sheffield United.

No player had scored three goals in an FA Cup semi-final since Alex Dawson for Manchester United in a 5-3 win over Fulham in 1958.

Mahrez opened the scoring on Saturday with a penalty kick just before half time.

His second goal was much more spectacular as he ran with the ball from inside his own half before calmly picking out the bottom corner.

Goal no.3 arrived in the 66th minute when Mahrez fired home from 15 yards after being teed up by Jack Grealish
