USWNT star Alex Morgan could make Tottenham debut Sunday vs. Manchester City

United States Women's National Team superstar Alex Morgan may make her Tottenham Hotspur debut in Sunday's Women's Super League match versus Manchester City.

Morgan joined Tottenham on what's been described as a short-term agreement from Orlando Pride last month. The 31-year-old could remain with the English club through early May and, thus, miss the start of the 2021 National Women's Soccer League season.

Per Kathleen McNamee of ESPN, Morgan is not yet match-fit to play a full 90 minutes. She was on the bench for last weekend's 4-0 loss to rivals Arsenal but didn't take the pitch.

"If I play, I won't be starting," Morgan said about her availability for the clash versus City. "Ninety minutes is too much for my first match. We're taking it day by day so we still have one more day to see how I do.

"I'm really hopeful to get on the field soon. This weekend will obviously be two weeks of me completing training so we're taking it day by day. I obviously have to look at the time I've been out, the fact that my body needs to get back to full fitness.

"We've had a flexible plan starting with the first day I was here and looking at when I could get into my first game and how many minutes and I've had quite a few meetings with our fitness coach and head coaches and continue to talk about that but obviously no one wants to see my in a game more than myself."
