'The attributes to become a top player' – William Gallas on Chelsea’s potential star

William Gallas was clearly very impressed by Mykhailo Mudryk and his progress over the last few games.

The former Chelsea left back was absolutely glowing as he spoke to FourFourTwo about the Ukraine star’s progress, and his potential to be one of the world’s best. As someone who played with and against Arjen Robben, Gallas knows a thing or two about wingers.

“I think Mudryk has all of the attributes to become a top, top player,” Gallas said.

We have seen the same things in the winger – pace kills, as they say, and Mudryk has it in abundance. But speed alone is never enough, and we need to see him combine it with finesse and technique, as he did on Monday, if he wants to make it count.

The bond we’re starting to see formed between him and Mauricio Pochettino is really promising too, and we hope that can develop into something really mutually beneficial. Let’s hope Gallas has called this one right.
