Southampton chasing Everton defender Mason Holgate

Everton defender Mason Holgate is being linked with a move away from the club.

The Toffees could be about to sell the 26-year-old to Southampton in the Championship.

Per The Mail, Holgate is eager to move on from the Toffees, as he was out of favor last season.

He only managed nine appearances in all competitions, which means he is unlucky to play much of a role next season either.

Southampton are eager to add a new defender, especially if they lose Tino Livramento and Kyle Walker-Peters to Premier League suitors.

The Saints believe they can secure Holgate for a cut price fee or even on a season long loan.
