Simon Adingra assures fans: Those Brighton rumours completely wrong

Simon Adingra denies he's being blocked by Brighton from joining Ivory Coast's Africa Cup of Nations squad.

The striker is eager to take part in the tournament.

He posted to social media: "Playing AFCON at home with Ivory Coast will be a dream come true. I can't put into words how much pride it will give me to take the field for my country.

"The rumours that Brighton are keeping me away from the AFCON are completely wrong. I couldn't be more motivated than I am to represent my country and make my people proud.

"I work extremely hard every single day to recover from my injury. Make no mistake that I will do everything I can for my country to go all the way."
