Salernitana are reportedly in contact with Mario Balotelli as they explore a mid-season move for the Adana Demirspor striker.

The Granata haven’t managed to find their footing in Serie A this season, picking up just two wins in their first 20 league matches. Their poor form leaves them rock bottom of the league table with just 12 points, six behind 17th place Cagliari.

Balotelli returned to Adana Demirspor from Sion in the summer and started well, scoring three goals in his first five appearances, but a knee operation has kept him sidelined since mid-November. He’s expected to return to action in the coming weeks.

As reported by TuttoSalernitana, club CEO Walter Sabatini managed to convince owner Danilo Iervolino that Balotelli could be a useful addition to the Salernitana squad, so talks are now ongoing with the Italian striker.

The 33-year-old is interested in the idea of joining the Salerno outfit for the second half of this season, trying to help them avoid relegation to the second tier.
