Roma release statement after Zalewski, El Shaarawy claims

AS Roma have announced they're right behind Nicola Zalewski and Stephan El Shaarawy over claims of gambling addiction.

The legal teams of the pair have denied the reports and Roma have now thrown their support behind the players.

In response to recent rumours regarding the alleged involvement of some of the club's players in the football betting investigation, AS Roma expresses its full support for Nicola Zalewski and Stephan El Shaarawy, who have been subjected to reputation-damaging speculation," read a statement.

The club has total confidence in Nicola and Stephan when they claim to have nothing to do with this matter."

Both Zalewski and El Shaarawy are now taking legal action against gossip columnist Fabrizio Corona over the allegations.
