Real Madrid veteran Lucas Vazquez says victory at Real Mallorca on Saturday sets them up for their trip to Manchester City.

Real won in Mallorca thanks to Aurelien Tchouameni's strike.

Vazquez said: "There are many things to highlight. It was a very complicated game in which the team needed to play a different kind of football, to pick up loose balls, to fight for the game. In the end the team did a great job and got a well-deserved win.

"Our solidity is what keeps us at the top of the table. The team is having a great season. LaLiga is the competition of consistency and the team is showing that it is at a very good level. We knew how important it was to keep a clean sheet and that's what we've done."

On the trip to City for the second-leg of their Champions League quarterfinal, with the score locked at 3-3, Vazquez said: "We're doing very well. We're in a good moment, we're having a good final stretch of the season and the team is at a great level both collectively and individually.

"Almost all the players are performing wonderfully and we're going into Wednesday with a great desire to win the game, to get through the tie and go through to the semis, and to win the Champions League as well."
