Intermediaries reportedly contacted Juventus to propose a possible deal for Real Madrid veteran Toni Kroos in the summer.

The 34-year-old German midfielder has entered the last six months of his contract with the Spanish giants and still hasn’t decided whether or not to sign a short-term extension at his long-term home, having been with the club since July 2014.

Juventus are unable to spend too heavily as they resolve their financial health and are expected to be active in the free agent market in the summer, trying to set up a deal for Lazio winger Felipe Anderson. Atalanta’s Teun Koopmeiners, who won’t come cheap, is also a key target for the summer.

Page 12 of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how intermediaries recently contacted with Juventus to propose the idea of signing Kroos on a free transfer in the summer, should he ultimately leave Real Madrid upon the expiration of his contract.

Negotiations are not ongoing for the time being, with the Bianconeri aware of a one-year extension with Real Madrid on the table and instead placing more focus on the Felipe Anderson deal.

This season, Kroos has seen 1972 minutes of action across 30 games for Real Madrid, scoring one goal and providing seven assists in that time.
