QPR defender Jake Clarke-Salter says there were two senior players at former club Chelsea who did the most to help the club's academy youngsters.

Clarke-Salter came right through the system at Chelsea before cutting ties with the London giants this summer.

And while he's happy with his choice, the centre-half says he'll always appreciate the education he received at Chelsea's Cobham training centre.

Asked if he viewed any senior teammates at Chelsea as role-models, Clarke-Salter, speaking on behalf of CopyBet, told Tribalfootball.com: "When I was coming up through the Academy, John Terry I'd say he's a big role-model to me. You'll see him on and off the pitch, obviously he helped me quite a lot and also David Luiz as well.

"After training sessions he'd get the ball out and help me with a few things, so obviously I'll always be grateful for that experience.

"Hopefully I can now take those elements I've learned over the years and use them in my game."

Asked about the managers he experienced at Chelsea, Clarke-Salter also said: "Obviously, there's Guus Hiddink. He gave me my debut. So I've always got gratitude towards him.

"But there's (Jose) Mourinho and (Antonio) Conte also.

"They're all great managers who've done amazing things in the game so it was a privilege for me to to train under them quite a few times."
