FC Barcelona suffered another meltdown in the UEFA Champions League knockout stage. The Spanish club fell on Tuesday night to Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 (6-4 on aggregate) despite having a 1-0 lead in the second leg and a 4-2 aggregate advantage at one point.

After trailing 1-0, the capital club received a lifeline when Ronald Araújo was red-carded following a foul on Bradley Barcola. With Barcelona down to ten men, the Parisians took advantage of the situation.

PSG would score four unanswered goals to advance past the Spanish team in thrilling fashion. The Ligue 1 side will meet Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League semifinals, with two matches separating both teams from having a ticket to Wembley for the final.

Nonetheless, with the latest Champions League debacle from Barcelona, ESPN FC highlighted that in Barcelona’s past five UCL elimination ties, Marc-André ter Stegen and company have conceded 27 goals.

The knockout stage have been a house of horrors for the Catalan team, and PSG only added more misery to their recent struggles in the past seven years.
