Portugal coach Roberto Martinez has handed Wolves defender Toti Gomes a first call-up.
Gomes has been rewarded for his role in Wolves moving away from the drop this season under manager Julen Lopetegui.
Martinez said, "He's a very interesting player.
"He has different skills, he's different from other centre-backs. He's a physical centre-back, very strong in the duel, left-handed. His performances at Wolverhampton were very good. We need players with different features.
"Our relationship with players is very open. Doors are always open. I like to exchange ideas with Rafa, with Joo Mrio, with everyone. I saw Nlson Semedo as a player who did well for six months. Cancelo will be used for the left. It's a good opportunity. We have many options, like Aurlio Buta or Mrio Rui."
