Arrigo Sacchi has ‘no doubts’ that Stefano Pioli must remain at Milan in 2024-25: ‘People must start thinking!’

Former Italy and Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi is convinced the Rossoneri must confirm Stefano Pioli for 2024-25, regardless of the team’s results in the final part of the season.

“I have no doubts; people must start thinking,” the 78-year-old told Gazzetta.

“Pioli won a Scudetto with a less expensive team than their opponents. It’s his and the players’ merit. In the current season, he was able to end a difficult moment and did good work.”

At the end of 2023, especially after a 2-2 draw against strugglers Salernitana, Pioli seemed destined to leave Milan in the summer. However, results in the new year have been more than convincing for the Italian coach and DAZN has recently reported that Pioli will likely remain at Milan next season.

This past Saturday, they beat Lecce 3-0 at San Siro, securing the fifth consecutive win in Serie A this season.

On Thursday, they’ll host Roma at San Siro in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals, and Sacchi feels the Rossoneri are the favourite against their Serie A rivals.

Milan currently sit second in the Serie A table, 11 points below table leaders Inter who have a game in hand.
