There were over 300,000 in attendance at Inter Milan’s Serie A title celebrations, whilst Denzel Dumfries will receive a fine for a banner.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Yesterday, Inter held their Serie A title celebration parade.

Following the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 victory against Torino at the San Siro, the players boarded an open top bus.

On that bus, the players were able to celebrate their title victory in front of their fans.

And it was a big crowd of fans on hand to join in the emotional celebrations.

According to the Gazzetta, the total number of people who joined in the festivities ended up exceeding 300,000.

Inter’s players were on the open top bus for over six hours as it made its way through the city of Milan to the Piazza Duomo from its starting point at the stadium.

300,000+ Fans At Inter Title Parade – Dumfries To Be Fined For Banner

At one point during the celebrations, Inter wingback Denzel Dumfries held up a banner.

The banner depicted the Dutchman with AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez as a dog on a leash.

This was a bit of banter aimed at the Frenchman, who has a bit of history with Dumfries.

Both Hernandez and Dumfries were sent off in the closing stages of the derby match in which Inter clinched the title with a 2-1 victory over their city rivals.

This is hardly the first incident in which the two have clashed during derby matches.

Inter President Steven Zhang had urged his players to “uphold Inter’s values” and celebrate in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner when they clinched the title.

However, Dumfries could not resist having a go at Hernandez after the events in the derby.

The Gazzetta report that it was striker Marko Arnautovic who handed Dumfries the banner from the crowd.

The newspaper also anticipate that the Dutchman will receive a small fine. This will be around €4000-5000 in total.

That would be in line with the fine that Rossoneri players Sandro Tonali, Rade Krunic, Mike Maginan, and none other than Hernandez received for banners in the 2021-22 title celebrations.

And then-Roma and current Aston Villa midfielder Nicolo Zanioli received a similar fine for flying a banner in the Giallorossi’s 2021-22 Europa Conference League celebration parade.
