Newcastle happy to have Lingard revenge on Man Utd over Ashworth battle

Manchester United have been given a reality check regarding dealing with Newcastle United.

That is the view of The Mirror, who state that the Magpies are giving the Red Devils a hard time intentionally.

Man United want to sign Dan Ashworth, Newcastle's sporting director, immediately.

However, Newcastle have put him on 20 months of gardening leave, as his contract stipulated.

Newcastle are said to be upset at the Red Devils over Jesse Lingard from back in 2021-2022.

Lingard was not allowed to join Newcastle on loan for the second half of that campaign.
