Ndicka: New tests confirm no heart issues for Roma defender

Sky Sport Italia reports that Evan Ndicka underwent further heart checks today, which came back negative; the Roma defender will have further examinations next week to test his lung.

Roma defender Ndicka underwent medical tests in the capital on Monday, and results confirmed no heart issues for the Ivory Coast international, who had collapsed on the pitch during an away game against Udinese on Sunday.

Ndicka was discharged from the Udine Hospital on Monday, and early tests had already found no heart condition for the 24-year-old.

Ndicka hasn’t yet trained with the team and will rest for the next few days, so he won’t be available when his Roma side meet Milan in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals on Thursday night.

Sky Sport Italia correspondent Angelo Mangiante adds on X, formerly Twitter, that Ndicka will undergo further tests on Monday, April 22, to check his lung.

Roma doctors said on Monday that Ndicka’s problem at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine was “compatible with a thoracic trauma with minimal left pneumothorax.”
