Milan have added Jakub Kiwior to the growing list of January options to replenish their defense. Since they don’t have a big budget, a loan spell from a big team could be in the cards since it’d allow them to bring in a high-caliber player, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The Rossoneri confirmed that Pierre Kalulu had surgery to repair a torn tendon in his left thigh and would miss four months. Marco Pellegrino will undergo further evaluations on his fractured heel. He might return by Christmas if he doesn’t need to go under the knife.

Milan are intrigued by Kiwior in particular because of his versatility and familiarity with Serie A. He can also star as a fullback or as a defensive midfielder. They could propose a loan with an option to buy. On the other hand, Arsenal paid €25M to sign him from Spezia last January, outbidding the Rossoneri and the other Serie A heavyweights.

The youngster has featured just ten times in the Premier League since joining. He’s behind the more established William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes. The Italian outfit is keen but hasn’t reached out to the Gunners or his camp at this stage.

On top of Kiwior, Milan have been linked to Montpellier’s Maxime Esteve and Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly. The latter is more of a summer option when his contract expires, because the Cherries don’t want to lose a starter. Juventus and other English sides are after him too.
