Manchester United great Wayne Rooney can see Marcus Rashford being sold this summer.

Rashford scored from the spot in today's clash with Everton.

And calling the game, Rooney said on TNT Sports: "I don't think Marcus [Rashford] is a leader.

"Sometimes his body language isn't the best in that regard, I'd look more towards Casemiro, [Raphael] Varane, Bruno [Fernandes] as captain. They are players that should be getting the best out of Marcus because sometimes as a striker, you do need your teammates to help draw the best out of you.

"Sometimes you can overthink the game and Marcus, I think he overthinks it or it looks that way. He wants to do well so much that it affects his game, sometimes just simplifying your game can work so well for you.

"I've talked about the problems I've had in the past about pressure on you, and it's not easy, but it's important the people you have around you. Family, friends, just the right people to give you the right advice because it can get lonely as well at times.

"I hope he's not in that position but if you're playing for Man United and England, you'll get scrutinised. You have to be ready to take what people are throwing at you, especially with social media right now."

Rooney added of Rashford's United future: "I think they'd look [at any offers for him] but he's a Manchester lad and I hope he gets back into form and has a long career at this football club. Maybe that's what he needs, a move away, to kickstart his career but I'd love to see him stay and find that talent again because he has so much of it."
