Mike Maignan showed why he is so in-demand on Saturday night’s win over Fiorentina by making a couple of decisive saves, and a report has outlined the teams that are keen on him.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, there are four teams above all from around Europe that stand out as being among the main suitors for Maignan, whose renewal situation is ‘complex’ due to his salary demands.

The first team mentioned are Bayern Munich, given that Manuel Neuer is 38 years old so they must eventually find his long-term heir, even if they have recently extended his contract again.

Then there is Manchester United, who are still having doubts about Andre Onana despite the amount that they spent to sign him from Inter last summer.

They are joined by Premier League rivals Chelsea, who believe they can improve in the role, and that also applies to PSG because although Gianluigi Donnarumma is doing better the idea of bringing Maignan back appeals.

How much would the renewal cost? Maignan is an elite level player in his position who can aspire to an agreement worth €8m net per season. Negotiations with his agent Jonathan Kebe have not yet come to fruition but Milan will certainly aim to close at lower prices.

What will be decisive? A particular factor: the ambitions of the club and the team that the managers will be able to build in the summer, because Maignan wants to challenge for and win trophies every year.
